There he stood
On the verandah
Looking for his date
There she stood
In the parlor
Nervously scouring the place
His best friend
Comes out to chat
Invites him to a game
She nods and greets
Looks about the scene
Thinks he's not in this space
Deep bass booms, but not his heart
As he glances back
He missed his chance
She is with another guy
She takes the arm
The two begin to dance
Heartbroken, he loses the game
Prepares to leave
The dark sky brings rain
She sways and sighs
This is not the guy
For her love, her eyes strain
A glimpse into the heart of Elsha Hawk, a writer, Mom, teacher, and someone full of LOVE.

Because I Love It: More Fridge Poetry!!
Friendship
we warmly support the other
relax
share
listen
kind comfort
funny
safe
honest
who better to
keep secrets
my friend
more than companion
loyal
strong
true
nearest my heart
laugh
cry
remember
time together always
like family
close

Refrigerator Poetry!!
Been thinking about trees. They are majestic, important, and too often taken for granted. I love trees. They provide clean air, shade, and beautiful fall colors.
season cycle
winter snow
spring bloom
hot summer
fall leaves
watch on
never change
remember always
celebrate time
with promise
I also have been thinking about poetry. Specifically Refrigerator Magnet poetry. So I pulled out my sets and built this poem:
the tree
from morning dawn
to quiet dark night
live green plant
wait outside
rise up
see life beneath
know water,
sunlight,
wind, and rain

wind, and rain
